About Us

Kristin is a Southern Georgia belle, who graduated from UGA as a veterinarian May 2010. Carter grew up in NC, went on to seminary, became an ordained pastor, and has completed his doctorate of ministry. After retiring from full-time ministry, Carter is thoroughly enjoying being a financial advisor (and volunteering on the ministry side of things). After about a month of emailing, asking questions, and going through the steps of eharmony.com, we were full of excitement and became very eager to meet one another face to face. October 25, 2009, we met and enjoyed every minute together. We had no doubt God was going to strengthen our relationship with Him as well as with one another. Carter proposed August 9, 2010 on the boat in the middle of Lake Wylie at sunset. Kristin said "Yes" after some happy tears. We got married April 2, 2011 and what an amazing beautiful day that was! God has continued to bless us throughout our marriage. On May 18, 2017, our family grew when God gave us our son, Micah. We look forward to see what He has in store for us each and every day. We are super blessed to be serving the Lord wherever we are. God is constantly surprising us with new callings!

He's Calling

Not too long ago, Dad called me.  Like always, I got very excited and a big smile took over as I saw “Dad calling” pop up on my phone.  It’s my Dad!  I call and talk to my dad practically every Sunday to check in on the animals, him and Thea, and see how things are going.  There’s just something super special about the time we chat that I truly cherish.

About an hour after I got off the phone that day he called me, I thought to myself, “Do I get that excited when God calls me?  Do I always hear Him and know that it’s Him when He calls?”

I thought about how Samuel mistakes God’s voice back in 1 Samuel 3 for Eli a few times before Eli told Samuel to “Go and lie down, and if he calls you, say, “Speak, Lord, for your servant is listening.” (v. 9) And then God responded to Samuel with a vision.

How do we respond to God’s callings? Whether it be to serve? Or to change something? Or to treat someone who has hurt you Christ-like and to keep on loving and praying for them?

How has God revealed Himself to you lately? Through His word? By talking to you? Have you seen Him?  Or are you too busy?  Have you heard Him and ignored Him because you were scared? Or maybe you have felt His presence through a song?

God cherishes time with us, just like I cherish time with my Dad (even if it’s via a phone call).  How’s your time with the Lord going these days?

Praising Him

Many of you have asked how we announced our little miracle to our church family back on Nov 20.  It went something like this:

Do you ever have those times where you stop, reflect, thank God for your blessings, look back, and wonder where the time goes?  Carter and I have done a lot of all of these lately, and even more the last several months.

I mean think about it: Just look at our Glades kids…they are getting taller, going grade to grade and next thing we know, they are in middle school then high school and then college!  Baby Evie turned 1 this past Summer.  George turns 1 this week.  And these are just a few things happening right here in our church family! Where does the time go?

As we have continued our daily quiet time individually and as a couple, Carter and I keep hearing, reading, and ending up at the same verses, whether it be in a devotional or an email someone shares with us, scripture reading, or a bible study… You know God those times when is wanting you to hear or grasp something?  Let me share just a few of the repetitive verses and phrases with you:

Every good and perfect gift is from above…James 1:17

From the fullness of grace, we have received one blessing after another. John 1:16

Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth. Psalm 100:1

It takes a church to raise a child.  Or It takes a village to raise a child. Isn’t this SO TRUE…hence why we ALL participate when a child/adult gets baptized?

How about these verses…

Psalm 127:3 “Behold, children are a gift from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.”

1 Samuel 1:27 “For this child we prayed, and the Lord has granted us our petition.”
Carter and I have been asked for the last 5+ years, when we were going to have a child?  Or when it was going to be our turn?  Whether easy or hard to say, our answer has always been, “It’s up to God and in His timing.”  We cherish every time you have shared your babies, kids, and youth with us along the way. We love every minute and will continue to do so.

We couldn’t be more humbled, blessed, and overjoyed to share with you, God has shown us it’s our time! We have been counting down the days to be able to tell YOU, our church family, WE ARE PREGNANT!  BABY ROBINSON WILL BE JOINING US NEXT YEAR!!!! < I was crying with joyous tears with the biggest smile on my face. Everybody was clapping, cheering, and sharing in the happy tears. >  We couldn’t be more thrilled of this church family/this village to be here with us along the way and in the years to come.

Join us in prayers for a healthy rest of our pregnancy, for me as I carry this baby, and for a healthy baby, delivery, and in the days and years to come raising him or her. Most importantly, let’s all totally give the Lord the credit for our miracle!

We love you and thanks for loving us!!!!!!!!!!!!

PLEASE don’t post this fun news on social media such as Facebook until you see us do so.  Please respect that we are still sharing with family and friends and we prefer them to hear from us, not internet.

< They all did great and didn’t spill the beans or share until we did so the week after Thanksgiving. >

To Our Bloggers:
Ya’ll, what a special moment this was!  It definitely went on our awesome Glades Memories List!  It was priceless…We could tell on their faces they kept going back and forth trying to figure out if we were pregnant or not.  Was great!  Worked out just how we had hoped. ; )
