About Us

Kristin is a Southern Georgia belle, who graduated from UGA as a veterinarian May 2010. Carter grew up in NC, went on to seminary, became an ordained pastor, and has completed his doctorate of ministry. After retiring from full-time ministry, Carter is thoroughly enjoying being a financial advisor (and volunteering on the ministry side of things). After about a month of emailing, asking questions, and going through the steps of eharmony.com, we were full of excitement and became very eager to meet one another face to face. October 25, 2009, we met and enjoyed every minute together. We had no doubt God was going to strengthen our relationship with Him as well as with one another. Carter proposed August 9, 2010 on the boat in the middle of Lake Wylie at sunset. Kristin said "Yes" after some happy tears. We got married April 2, 2011 and what an amazing beautiful day that was! God has continued to bless us throughout our marriage. On May 18, 2017, our family grew when God gave us our son, Micah. We look forward to see what He has in store for us each and every day. We are super blessed to be serving the Lord wherever we are. God is constantly surprising us with new callings!

Prayer

Both Carter and I have been pretty big prayer warriors for quite some time now. If we say we are going to pray for you, then we seriously do just that. We pray! We have seen the difference our prayer time makes in our lives as well as others.

However, I have noticed as I continue to strengthen my relationship with God that my prayer life has shifted.  It's not just the "Please get me there safely" or "Let me pass that test" or "please give me ____"...they aren't like Carter would say "Santa Clause prayers" any more. (Or at least not as much.) I find myself praising Him for who He is instead of focusing on materialistic wants and needs that aren’t aligned with His will. I believe He really is who He says He is and thank Him constantly for that. I stay excited about my time with Him now, whether it be one-liners throughout my day or for a longer time frame.  I will admit that it's taken me years to not feel awkward praying, to know that it's okay if I don't know what to say (The Holy Spirit intercedes.), to not be embarrassed to pray out loud in front of people, ...  Just like with any thing else, we have to start somewhere, right?

What's your prayer life like? Is it a chore? Does it come easy? Is it a "give me __" session? We read in scripture that Jesus prayed...so that in itself, tells us that we should, too. Let us know how we can be praying for you.

God Sees It All

And  no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are  naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account. -Hebrews 4:13

What are you hiding from a friend? A spouse? From God? Is it something you are afraid to share? Something you know is wrong? Feel like you can't be yourself around everybody you hang out with? What secrets are weighing you down?

Remember those rough waves I talked about in a previous post? Each and every one of those waves were FULL of millions of fish! It was bait fish season I guess cause that's no exaggeration. There were millions. We couldn't believe it as we continued to watch them. The waves were so transparent that we could see all of these fish, big and small. Here's the good news...there's nothing we can hide from God. Our lives are transparent. He knows everything! There are no secrets! He loves us so much! He loves us so much that He doesn't want to leave us where we are now.  He wants to continue to mold us to be more and more like Christ. He wants us to be honest with Him and be in constant communication with Him. He wants us to be straight forward and open up to Him about any and everything!
