“Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:8-9
While out and about a while ago, I was deep in my Bible in 90 Days reading. I hear this older gentleman’s voice, look up, and he and his wife were both being pushed in their wheel chairs. He wasn’t mad he was in a wheelchair; he was jovial! He was sharing with the assistant how blessed he was that the Lord had him, his wife, and their marriage in the palm of His hands. I just grinned ear to ear. As they wheeled by me, he asked to slow down, he smiled, noticed my smile and that I was reading the Bible, and said, “Wow! You understand the blessings I am talking about and the joy that comes from only Him, don’t you?” “Yes, Sir. I do.” He continued, “Keep reading the best book ever…it’s easy to make excuses or let a busy schedule get in the way. Congrats on that miracle growing inside you. Thank God left and right for that little one.” “Have an awesome day! God is so good.” “Oh yes, He is!” And away they went on to their proper gate.
Some questions that came up in my mind:
Am I sharing God’s joy with others no matter where I am or the situation at hand?
Do I share Him with any and everybody?
Am I thanking God for His many blessings each and every day? (Side note: Carter and I have since had Micah but yes, we continue to thank God for sharing this little Peanut with us and making us his parents.)
What excuses get in the way of being in God’s word? (Or living it for that matter?)
What about you? How would you respond to those questions?
Love ya’ll! Join me in counting those blessings and glorifying Him by sharing Him with everybody you can!
