About Us

Kristin is a Southern Georgia belle, who graduated from UGA as a veterinarian May 2010. Carter grew up in NC, went on to seminary, became an ordained pastor, and has completed his doctorate of ministry. After retiring from full-time ministry, Carter is thoroughly enjoying being a financial advisor (and volunteering on the ministry side of things). After about a month of emailing, asking questions, and going through the steps of eharmony.com, we were full of excitement and became very eager to meet one another face to face. October 25, 2009, we met and enjoyed every minute together. We had no doubt God was going to strengthen our relationship with Him as well as with one another. Carter proposed August 9, 2010 on the boat in the middle of Lake Wylie at sunset. Kristin said "Yes" after some happy tears. We got married April 2, 2011 and what an amazing beautiful day that was! God has continued to bless us throughout our marriage. On May 18, 2017, our family grew when God gave us our son, Micah. We look forward to see what He has in store for us each and every day. We are super blessed to be serving the Lord wherever we are. God is constantly surprising us with new callings!

Pastor's Porch: August

I have really enjoyed preaching through Robert Boyd Munger’s “My Heart Christ’s
Home.” I hope you have taken it to heart and have been working on letting Jesus
Christ into all areas of your life. It is so easy to close doors and keep Jesus out of
certain areas of our lives. Yet, He truly wants to be our friend and be a part of our
complete lives, not just on Sunday and Bible Study Days!

It is so important to abide in Jesus Christ. That is my prayer for us as a church: that
we continue to trust more and more on our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, each and
every day. We will finish up this series this month with a big conclusion on August
28th as we turn the keys of our heart to Jesus Christ.

Starting September 11th, we will kick off our fall sermon series and small groups,
which I am VERY excited about. I will be preaching through the book of Galatians
this fall, so get excited about spending time and going through a book of the Bible
together as a church. To prepare, you can start reading through Galatians. I have
been reading through it repeatedly as I am preparing for the fall and the beautiful
thing about scripture is that EACH and every time I read it, God shows me
something new! The Bible is such a LIVING book that way because it is from a
LIVING God! Even if you are reading a passage for the 100th or the 1,000th time,
God will still show and teach us new things!

I encourage us all to start reading through Galatians as well as praying through it
and meditating on it. It is going to be a fun journey we will go through this fall, and I
can’t wait to go through it with my family here at Glades!

Kristin and I both love you all!
