Easter is a fun time of the year to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. I’m always excited to celebrate Jesus at the resurrection. I think Easter is such a great time to not only celebrate Christ, but also to SHARE the excitement and resurrection with others. Easter is still a holiday where people are more likely than others to actually come to church. I know there are people out there who would only come Easter Sunday who don’t usually come to church. There are people who, if asked (maybe asked a couple of times and reminded), will say “yes” and maybe they need to be picked up or met somewhere. However, they are only interested in coming to church on Easter Sunday. Because of that, all members and friends of Glades need to take some time these next few weeks and reach out to those people that we know who don’t have a church home or don’t worship regularly.
What I LOVE about Easter is that we celebrate it EVERY SUNDAY.
That is why Christians worship Sunday instead of the Jewish Saturday worship: because we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ every week.
That is the celebration and joy that we celebrate weekly as we gather with the Body of Christ (remember that is what God considers Glades!).
Matthew 28:5b-7a “Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified. He is not here, for He has risen, as he said. Come, see the place where He lay. Then go quickly and tell!”
As we think about worship each Sunday, let’s remember that every week, we celebrate Easter here at Glades and that we are told to GO QUICKLY and tell!
