About Us

Kristin is a Southern Georgia belle, who graduated from UGA as a veterinarian May 2010. Carter grew up in NC, went on to seminary, became an ordained pastor, and has completed his doctorate of ministry. After retiring from full-time ministry, Carter is thoroughly enjoying being a financial advisor (and volunteering on the ministry side of things). After about a month of emailing, asking questions, and going through the steps of eharmony.com, we were full of excitement and became very eager to meet one another face to face. October 25, 2009, we met and enjoyed every minute together. We had no doubt God was going to strengthen our relationship with Him as well as with one another. Carter proposed August 9, 2010 on the boat in the middle of Lake Wylie at sunset. Kristin said "Yes" after some happy tears. We got married April 2, 2011 and what an amazing beautiful day that was! God has continued to bless us throughout our marriage. On May 18, 2017, our family grew when God gave us our son, Micah. We look forward to see what He has in store for us each and every day. We are super blessed to be serving the Lord wherever we are. God is constantly surprising us with new callings!

The Power of Being Quiet

We were in a Coaching Webinar several months ago and as I was sharing an experience with the rest of our team, our awesome facilitator and leader caught the power in what I had just shared.  She said, “Say that again.”  So I did… “There is so much power in the silence.”  In a hot second, so many other thoughts hit me that went with this statement.

There is power in silence!  Whether that be in Coaching or our every day lives as we live for the Lord and strive to be like Christ.

One that really came to me was “Silence in waiting for the answer(s) to a prayer takes patience but WOW and thanks comes when it’s answered.”

When listening to someone who just needs that listening ear…

We were given two ears and only one mouth!

When something negative, rude, or insulting arises, it’s best to just not say anything at all.

I am confident that more will come to me as time passes in regards to this, but I felt the need to share this for now.  Where have you seen the power of being quiet? Have you ever thought about the truth behind that before?  I hadn’t really.

All to Him

While a “little sister/mentee/daughter” and I walked on the beach one day, we passed a few half sand dollars.  Immediately, I looked at her and commented, “Wow!  God just reminded me that we are supposed to give ALL of ourselves/our lives…EVERYTHING…to Him.  Not just “part of our life.”  He was loud and clear stating that there should be no if’s, and’s, or but’s.  What am I holding onto that is preventing me from living 100% whole heartedly for the Lord?  What about you?

Duke and His Little Sister

As ya’ll know, we unexpectantly lost our first four legged baby boy right before Christmas last year, and boy did it tear us up!  We still get down and upset when we think about it.  Duke was the best black lab ever...a son whose memories will live on forever in our hearts!

Over time, we have pulled some of Duke’s old toys, bowls, etc out for our 10 month old Golden Retriever, Joy.  As we have done this, I thought, “Awe, look, Duke left his stuff behind for his little sister.”

Making this a short and sweet entry, God nudged me in these thoughts about Duke and Joy and asked, “What will you leave behind? What legacy will you be known for?”  Will it glorify God, yourself, or culture?”
